Selection of materials for touch parts of SIM card holder connector

The sim card socket connector has been continuously improved in the trend of mobile phone electronics industry
development in recent years. For the use of information storage cards such as SIM cards, SD cards, and TF cards in
mobile phones and other electronic products, card socket connectors are indispensable. Yes, so what are the
considerations for the selection of raw materials for the touch parts of the SIM card holder commonly used in our
mobile phones? CARDCONN electronic sim card socket connector manufacturer will share with you the selection of raw
materials for the card socket touch parts.

The touch piece can be made of any one of several alloys, and the specific selection depends on the type of touch
piece, the frequency of plugging and unplugging, and the electrical and environmental conditions in which the
connector works. Some commonly used materials and their application occasions are as follows:

Phosphor Bronze—Phosphor bronze has a higher hardness than brass, and can maintain its elasticity for a long time.
It is often used as a material for touch parts with operating temperatures below 300°C. For most connectors that
are mated infrequently, or where the contacts are in normal flexures, the use of phosphor bronze ensures good reliability.

Brass—Although brass is a material with excellent electrical conductivity, it is easily deformed and quickly fatigued
after repeated bending. It is usually used as a fixed contact in an inexpensive connector, or as other metal parts
in the connector. Connectors with brass contacts should not be used where good flexibility is required. Of course,
because of the low cost, brass can still be used as a touch part in many places.

Beryllium Bronze - Beryllium bronze has far more mechanical functions than brass or phosphor bronze. Beryllium bronze
parts set and harden after annealing, retaining their shape virtually permanently, and are the most resistant material
to mechanical fatigue. It is recommended to use beryllium bronze for frequent plugging and high reliability applications.
